Nurses are the backbone of health care! Medical specialties require continuous learning and continuous personal improvement. Continuing professional development is not an event, it is a process. On July 12, 2021, a practical lesson was held for nurses of the polyclinic of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Rivne region", which processed the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine №798 "On approval of methodological recommendations "Surgical and hygienic treatment of hands of medical personnel".

The expert of the Association "Infection Control Service" Oksana Holovnya addressed the audience. The recommendations are quite simple, but in practice, there are many mistakes and violations. Therefore, the specialist of the Association "Infection Control Organization Service" focused on several sections of this topic, namely: stages of hygienic hand treatment and surgical hand treatment, criteria for choosing disinfectants, risks during hand washing with soap and water, indicated the proper use of medical gloves of all types, emphasized the mandatory care of the skin of the hands, described the legal issues of medical errors. Great interest was aroused by the master class on hand antiseptic treatment by checking the quality of treatment using a special lamp. Classes in this format are not only training, it is an exchange of experience and practical skills.
